I'm attempting to make a strobe light controller that synchronises with virtual DJ using the midi clock.
I've hit a problem though, with processing delay/latency it seems getting the strobe to flash on a downbeat is virtually impossible.
Is it correct that VDJ only outputs Start, clock and stop messages? a Song position pointer message to identify the downbeats would be very very useful! unless I've misunderstood SPP.
As always I'm throwing myself headfirst into a subject I'm not at all familiar with!

Midi clock indeed only outputs tempo, not timing information.
Depending on what you're sending it to, you could have a look at Ableton Link, which is also supported by VirtualDJ and which does send timing information.
