I’m using VDJ on a Macbook Air (M1) with 1TB hard drive and 16RAM. Mixing on Roland 707m 4 chnnl console
When I enable stems in the expert mode, every thing works great with the exception of the “bass” stem. It is controlled by my bottom filter knob on chnnl 2. It works perfectly in the headphone mix but in the mains it still just works as a filter. Any thoughts?

You need to select EZRemix or ModernEQ modes with the 3 EQ knobs for Stems, because the FILTER knobs on the 707 are Hardware, so cannot be used for the Full Stems EQ mode.
Read Nr.4 https://www.virtualdj.com/manuals/hardware/roland/dj707m/layout/mixer.html
Even if you disable "fake filter" mode (enabled in ONINIT key), you will still get the Hardware Color FX applied.

Thank you! It was making me a little nuts. Still odd that it works through the headphone out… just not the mains. But I totally get that it is a hardware knob tied directly to the 707 effects and not midiable. Thanks again!
