I play with a band and we use sequences with Cakewalk Sonar, we want to start showing the video of the song we are playing on screen and I wanted to know if VJD pro has the capability of receiving midi commands from other software (Sonar in this case) to trigger the video via midi when we start the song, we are already using sonar to trigger distortions on our midi pedalboard for guitar effects but I want to know if we can use VDJ in conjunction with Sonar to do this without having to trigger videos manually or having someone to do it... Basically Sonar would send a midi signal to VDJ when the song starts and VDJ would start the video on the screen by itself. If that possible? Thanks a lot!! have been using vdj for many years but never tried to do this... thanks again for any info!

you'd map the virtual midi cable and then it would just act like a device.
I've done the opposite way [midi out of vdj to lamping SW], midi in wouldn't be much different.
I've even got some code I can adapt to write the definition.
What's your virtual midi cable? [if pc]
and what kind of midi you sending? note on/off 0x7F-00
All notes, all channels?

From what I've just found online, Cakewalk/Sonar handles video directly....
