Sujet Another laptop...with xp sound no clear

I buy a new laptop with XP preinstalled
This is the configuration:
Pentium VI 1.7 Ghz
256 RAM
Soundcard: Crystal (WDM)
OS: Windows XP Home

The problem is that the sound is not clear...
I hear it as much compressed...
Can someone help me????
