Hey guys
was hoping on some feedback regarding some speakers i have been looking at. Now i dj at a club so i dont have my own speakers and amp. What im looking for is a system that isnt too expensive and will be ok for home use and the ocasional house party. I have been looking at a few combos, and was wondering if you guys can tell me what you think. Below are three options im considering. All hep is welcome, Thanks guys

Im not sure if i should go with powered speakers, or speakers and an amp. The last link as you can see is the less portable soultion, but they look pretty sick. Looking for something that will have a nice kick, not looking into bass bins, as i said just for my use, and houseparties, maybe some small hall parties. Havent really dealt with the "pyle" brand so unsure
Thanks everyone

i haven't heard them... so i can't be THAT real of a judge... but i'd say to be skeptical. i've never heard of pyle in my life..
i'd also go with an amp and speakers. a lot more versatility and easily upgradable if need be.
i don't know why but i just never got into the whole powered speaker thing

I thought it was funny when it discribed one of the units as having a 200watt amp in it, but then said 600w max. It also said 3 way crossover, when it is clearly a 2 way cabinet. Maybe i'm missing something.

Hi,
i'd definately avoid the second ones because they've only got a 10 inch cone in, so i guess you would be dissapointed with the sound, especially the bass after playin in a club. Out of the ones you listed I'd probably go for the 3rd ones.
About active speakers or passive ones with an amp- there's not much in it soeveryone's got a different opinion.
If you've got an amp it's always a good idea to carry a spare incase you get any problems, so you really need to allow extra budget to buy an extra amp. But if you've got 2 active speakers and you get a problem with one, you can just manage the rest of the night with the working speaker- no need for any spares.
I'd probably keep looking for something second hand but in good condition. I'm sure alot of people on hear could recommend some good brands to watch out for on ebay.

I just purchased a pair of Yamaha MSR400, I have a mobile set up and they work great for Bars, and house parties.....a DJ friend of mine had them at a local bar one night and they completely filled the place with clear, crisp soud a suprisingly good bass from a 12" driver.......
I personally opted for the Active speakers, therefore eliminating the need for an external amp, but I am limited with that set up, but for my application its perfect.....
I listened to several brands from JBL, Mackie, Pyle.....I likeds the Yamaha the best, jsut my 2 cents......Then eventually I will add a powered subwoofer to add extra low frequencies, and if you have a sonic maximizer that really helps the sound.....

The best advice I can give you is...DON'T BUY PYLE PRODUCTS !!!!!
The other speakers are trying to pass themselves off as JBL's. TP, Technical Pro. Please don't be taken in by things that look like something else but are not. I don't think anyone on this forum would advise you to buy these speakers. They would be a COMPLETE waste of time and money.
Usually when you deal with no name brand equiptment, you get less than you pay for. A lot less. Once again...and I can't stress this enuff, DO NOT BUY PYLE.
If you want a good inexpensive speaker try these...
Peavey PR12 ($169) or PR15 ($199)
both speakers are rated at 400w program, 800w peak.
Behringer amp EP2500 ($299) 500w @ 8ohms, 750w @ 4ohms, 1200w @ 2ohms.
This is a inexpensive setup you can USE.
Oh, did I mention not to buy Pyle?

I had to look at these speakers again. (The ones you have posted)
I will add to my origonal post.
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES ARE YOU TO BUY ANY OF THE SPEAKERS YOU HAVE POSTED
I took a better look at them and they are pure garbage. ESPECIALLY the JBL wannabees Techinal Pro.
Please don't get these speakers.

And let me add this as well..... Please don't get these speakers.

Listen to djcity. There is a difference between inexpensive, and bullshit. These fall under the bullshit label. Inexpensive, American DJ, American Audio, Gemini, Behringer, Yamaha. You may say, hey they look professional. Somebody must be buying them, they are still in business. Yes, and they may work for you in a little party at your home. But think of how many AB machines you see for sale on late night TV. And if you call in the next ten minutes, I'll also send you this cure for baldness, absolutely free. Ever wonder why you still see guys with no hair? BTW, if you or anyone else is losing their hair, this is not a slap at you in any way.

I have the exact setup that djcity recommended...plus a Numark CM200usb mixer. I use it for line dance lessons/dances and parties in a Veteran's hall...holds about 150 people. I'm brand new at this and certainly far from an expert, but I'm totally satisfied with it...serves my purpose perfectly!
