qbandj...you are not using a cracked version of Virtual Dj are you??? That would be bad. If you are, please purchase the software. Believe me...You will be much happier with the full PRO Version then with a cracked version. Even the demo version is better then a cracked version.

Bagpuss gave an accurate answer

Good luck to ya

Here's another tip: Most Illegal versions of VDJ on p2p are either intentionally buggy or non intentionally buggy, so when you experience problems please don't report them or complain here, also be sure to keep them gains low (hint hint hehe).

You guys should really stop acusing people of this sort of thing.
Many of our users have used these versions.
They usually come around on their own without insinuations and insults.
They are more likely to come around sooner if the see value of your help instead of making them angry.

I don't think anybody knows the next versions until it gets released btw.
We might find a bug tomorrow that needs to be fixed asap, that would be version 3.5.

I'm sure qbandj will be very impressed with the support he received, he not only got his answer but also some relevant advice, which may lead him to purchase the program.

Some people just don't pay for there software no matter it's price or frills, It's an ongoing fact, I feel no obligation to support people who come here who obviously use cracked versions, however it is the choice of the company whether they wish to continue a "let luster piracy policy", personally I think it should be clamped down on in the interests of the company and respect of it's paying customers. There is too much choice here whether you buy or you don't, I think those choices could be taken away in exchange for the money. There will always be people that don't play by the rules unless they are properly enforced/forced.

There's rarely substantial proof of who is and who isn't using an illegal version here but after time it's easy to recognise who they are, and they don't take our hints offensively as they are completely aware of their actions and not ashamed of them.

And I think it's fair to say the next significant release will be version 4.

Well said mp3jrick - you've just echoed the sentiments I have felt many a time I've read such an post.

In addition, I don't condone the use of "cracked" software these days but certainly used to use the stuff when I was a poor student or before. However, now I can afford it I pay for it and have for many years. I wish some people on here would understand that monetry value does not trancend the internet equally. Why is there so much crime in poor countries? Because they are poor. End of. Same applies to software. Even Microsoft have realised this by releasing cut down versions of Windows at a snip of the price to certain markets (in addition to already having a differential pricing model which is one of the reasons they became the global giant they are now). I'm not suggesting Atomix implement differential pricing - I am merely using it as an example to show it is more difficult for some countries to buy the software than others.

Please continue to encourage people to buy the software - at the end of the day, the more people who pay then the more investment can be made into the product. Just please don't automatically judge thoses that don't or can't. I'd also say that piracy can act as a viral marketing tool - much like the mp3 business. Mp3's now outsell CD singles in the UK. The value added part is what will make people part with their money - such as getting access to support, effects, skins etc.

Just my 2 pennies worth.

Bren,
I used to feel the same way towards crackers until I realized how many do in fact buy the program in due time, it's a different method but it works and it's less hostile.
I honestly feel that users see the light in time all by themselves, and those who burn Atomix in time get their due treatment.
When I think of the number of times I have been burned by software, and I understand why users try cracks first. And when they see what is on the menu they want it and buy it and THAT is the main objective.
If you don't want to support non licenced users then don't, but please don't crucify them as they usually become full licenced users as long as we don't make them angry enought to scare them off.

My comment wasn't aimed at you anyway, if you look at the post clock you will see we posted at the same time.

Peace

I appreciate that many people have upgraded, I don't have the links but there were a few threads where I persuaded cracked version users to buy a licence (DJ in Norway was particularly good at doing this), simply by listing the benefits it's obvious why any fan of the program would want to get a licence. We'll have to compile that list properly and post it somewhere.

I've taken the view that a non licence user deserves support for their Demo and should have full right to enquire about the Full version, but when some ones post basically confesses they are using a cracked version I don't personally agree that they should be able to consume our time with their questions regarding their illegal version, especially when they report "bugs" which are nothing more than the side effects of a cracked version.

I also think the Timecoded CD download should be restricted for non licence users.

These are just my personal views, I'm not trying to get heavy.

Always Peace ;).

At the bottom of the page you will see current stats of 127 registered users and 292 visitors online right now, think about that.
What in the world would nearly 300 people be viewing on our site?
I think we both know what they are here for.
Now THAT is worth getting alarmed about, but there is nothing you or I can do to change that.
So a user who has at least taken the time to register gets slammed for asking a question.
That ain't right imo.
And if you don't want to give them the time, then don't, it's that simple, just ignore them.

I have adopted the feeling that things you can't change just aren't worth worrying about, it just isn't very flattering the other way around and life is just too short.

'Course it took me 50 years to figure all that out.......lol

Perhaps I did not make myself understood in my previous post.

I will help those I can help and will always direct a non lisenced user to purchase the full PRO version of Virtual DJ as they will be more happy with the amount of things it can do vs the demo version or a cracked version.

I am not on the VDJ software Police Force. I do however care about the product and will continue to direct and advise anyone to purchase the full version and become a regristered user weather they are a demo user or a cracked version user.

Tisk tisk on the cracked users, though that often leads to the purchase of the full PRO version.

Remeber....

Smile, Be happy, and Keep spinning that Gooooood music with the worlds #1 DJ software Virtual DJ. (At least in my opinion).

DJ CITY
