Does the video freeze on your monitor or on the output? (Or both?)
Do you have a video card for the output?
Have you optimized your setup for performance?
Though I'm not entirely sure about specs, I think your processor is a little on the weak side. I'm running a 3.4 with 4GB memory and 1 GB video card and haven't had a single problem. The vids load up and play flawlessly.

What controller are you using? Thats if your using one.
If your using a hercules mk 1 / mk 2 I would advise buying a powered usb hub.
This solves alot of problems using these controllers.
Everytime i loaded a music video or even a normal mp3 the screen would freeze a split second or even skip the music.
Powered usb hubs solve these problems.
Thats if ure using a hercules controller that is.
