I was wondering, does the mk2 have problems with a extrnal mixer? I had a gig a week ago and when I tried to to use the crossfade on my external mixer everthing would stop playing when went I load a song on deck A. I just bought the m2k 2 week ago and on the tray icon it has a tab for external mixer. Does this mean I need to upgrade?

ok, you should go to ts.hercules.com and download the latest firmware. that's a recomendation for any hardware you get.
second, yes, you should use that option "use external mixer" in the mk2 tray icon and also in vdj sound config.
you should use:
soundcard : depending... either mk2 if you want to use WMD or asio if you want to use ASIO. If you use asio, choose mk2.
output: external mixer.
input: depending if you want to use timecodes or not.
try it.... a lot. until you are sure it works perfect.
