Paulettecerra: sorry for repply to late...i've been too bussy latlely, but no, the mic is not suoported by VDj in ASIO MODE and answering to your previous post...the answers is not...The BCD does not work alone as a sound card, it needs a software to work with it in order to work as a sound card. i made all the test arround and bcd looks lke it works but it needs a software to run so...sorry let see if VDJ work better in a future to souport Mic on ASIO mode...but here is a solution for you...if You want to use Mic with your BCD, you could use DJDECKS I can tell you that it works even in ASIO mode you need to choose BCD as a aound card and mic will work also...I know DJDECKS is not so good as a VDJ does but is a solutions for all those that want to use mic on BCD...

Dose this go back to BCD Drivers.. If the Behringer dosing fix the drivers for the controller, It wouldn’t make a difference if VDJ work with Mic on ASIO mode for the BCD?

Its not related to the BCD2000 drivers, but VDJ...

VDJ does not (currently) support asio input for Mic, only timecode sound.

You can use the mic on the BCD2000 with vdj in WDM mode though...

But maybe asio mic will get added soon, who knows:)

Pardon my illiteracy. What does “WDM” stand for

Run BCD2000 in WDM mode, and enable the mic in as DEFAULT WINDOWS microphone input

Should work ;)

(its really windows that "runs" the mic though...but there are mic plugins and mic volume shortcut inside VDJ)

WDM mode is directX windows mode, and the way you really should run BCD2000 if you dont use timecode (vinyl or cd)

WDM dosn't use the BCD sound card and I can use a USB card?

Posté Thu 11 Jan 07 @ 9:31 pm

The BCD2000 can be run in NORMAL mode (WDM), that is direct sound mode that most soundcard use, and most djs use with VDJ.

Asio mode is really only for those who want to use timecode to control VDJ

Thanks dj-in-norway
You've answered my concern..

Do you be Know of any other controller that has Mic control?

Posté Thu 11 Jan 07 @ 9:41 pm

Most dj use mic in at exernal mixer, as they have good mic amp etc.

But midi controllers such as Hercules AND BCD2000 has mic..

You have mic on the controller you have, and it wont work any better in any other midi controller with mic.

With VDJ, all of them needs the mic input to be enabled in WINDOWS, as default mic

Other alternative would be get a hardware mic input, on a mixer...

Hi Everybody,
for introduction, i´m a beginner in Digital DJing so correct me if I write something wrong!

I starts a few years ago to use VDJ with the Hercules DJ Console (MK1). Becouse of many Problems I decided to go back to CD´s. (the problems I was figuring: Mic was very poor in sound, the play/cue buttons was terrible and didn´t respond, the jog weels was scratching when I pressed a button etc...) but I loved VirtualDJ! 1 Week ago I saw this behringer console (BCD2000) an readed in some forums that this works great, so i gave it a try, I buyed the console and I download the trial of VDJ4.2. After 3 or 4 hours i got a working configuration. All was responding fine... but sometimes the PC chrashed... Blue Screen... restart. Now the system is stable after more hours of work. I love the BCD and I love VDJ BUT... the Mic is not working. I have no chance to activate the Mic under windows, becouse there is nothing in the driver to activate. I will get back to my CD´s as long the BCD will give me Mic support with VDJ, when all is working i will buy VDJ becouse the software is great! I Hope this is planned! I tryed all software that I found, and no software is better than VDJ.
I also had a discussion from behringer through there support. There will be NO MORE DRIVER UPDATE! He tells me that they are planning to bring out something new. And they have no support for other software like VDJ. My problem is that I am a mobile dj and i don´t want to carry my external mixer, becouse the most of time i have no more place for all this!

@ Developer, you are doing a very good job, i wish I have one of you in my company to develope for me!^^

yeah, the roumor on the street is that Behringer has left the BCD2000 cold, and will not supply any more support or drivers for it.. In fact , not even make more of the console..
Instead they are comming out with something new.

I'll bring the mic request on to dev team, it has been asked for, before...
Maybe it can be added soon :)
