what you probably want is relative or smart mode, not absolute mode if you are using time code vinyl or time code cd. when you are in relative or smart mode, you can click anywhere in the waveform to jump instantly to that part of the song. you can select the mode in the timecode setup screen.
if you're not using cd or turntables, just click in the waveform where you want to be in a song. you can also set the config option to start from first cue point, and set a cue point anywhere in the song to start from.
