Sujet Cues Not staying put

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

in 3.4... I would cue a song and when I pulled the song up the next night or next week , the cue was still there.
After doing a show on Sunday I went to play the songs tonight and once again , the cues were gone... Not all of them but about 80%. I am a little confused. I downloaded the manual yet didn't get my answer.
It would be very helpful to keep these cues.

Question 2 . I'm starting to get confused as to which player the space bar starts... I had two songs waiting and pushed the space bar to start player one, yet player two started , I'm a bit confused.
I"m sure that there is an indicator as to which player the space bar will activate.

Question 3. Is there an auto load of the next song or do I have to do that manually?

question 4. I have been using the Alt/ Space combination to fade from one song to another in my karaoke shows and it has been working very well... yet if by chance I need to pause or the song ends ... I need a way a command to get the fader to move and get the next song going. I know i can page up/ down and hit space (but like question 2: I tried that and for some reason it would start the wrong player)

Thanks to anyone who might have answers to any of these questions. Michael aka "Michael"

Can't explain why cues are gone. Maybe something was hit by accident..

Space bar starts deck that is highlighted. In skin vmix1 the deck in green is the next deck that will play. IE: Deck 1 is red ( it is already playing a tune. Deck 2 is green it is the deck that will start playing the next song when the space bar is hit)

You can dbl click on the next song and it will be put on the song and it will put it in the deck that is not currently plying.

What I have found is if you are in the search mode your functions probably will not work. Meaning if you searched for a tune and left your cursor there, then the space bar will not activate the next tune.

Cues are never lost, they are saved in the XML database.

Only way to "loose" cues, is if you use some 3. party tools at your mp3s, such as Mixmeister BPM tool, Tag&Rename tools etc, that changes the filesize tiny bit.

VDJ identify all songs by filesize hash, and if the size is changed the saved XML info for that song (Cue, BPM, Gain) disapears for the songs in VDJ (VDJ no longer see the songs as there). And you have to analyze and set cues again.

Norway, I forgot about that. If he has a backup of the XML, he should be able to plug it into vdj and all will be ok. But I think he will need to either rename the xml already in vdj or put it on the desktop first, (deleting it from VDJ). Then he can plug in the backed up XML database.
Is that correct??

Michael:
In you PM to me you asked me to post answer here:
Why I didn't use 4.2. I liked the simplicity of 3.4 with vmix skin. I use vdj for the entire evening; this includes cocktail and dinner music. With 4.2 the automix for dinner music did not work correctly. It would start a song about half way; and in quite cases it would just skip a song and delete it from the list.
I know other people use winamp or the likes for dinner music, but my contention is that VDJ is my program of choice and I want to use it without the need of something else for dinner. With 3.4 I can use the automix without any problems.
With 3.4 you can use thje Vmix 3 skin and it will have a window for each deck (for your Karaoke).
