Sujet: Vista & Karaoke Zips Don't Work Right

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

I have just discovered a rather nasty problem...
When I recurse a directory with zips in it, Virtual DJ seems to treat each zip like another directory, and it won't show zip files in the files browser... it only shows them in the tree like a regular folder, but even its contents don't show up in the file browser.

This is very bad for me.... I haven't heard of this before, and I actually tred disabling Vistas built-in support for zip files to no avail. Not sure if it's related, but I have the latest version of WinRAR installed.

Has anyone else discovered this problem, and hopefully a workaround for it? For the time being I'm using Vistas stupid file search, and am having fun trying to index the Karaoke files.

Nobody has any ideas about why my zips won't show in the browser?

Running vista business here, not having this problem at all my zips show up just fine.

Cyder is Business the one to get???

Interesting... I wonder if it's because of WinRar, or if it's a "feature" of Home Premium that isn't in business.

If anyone hears of an issue like this, I'd love to know how to fix it. I guess I'll try uninstalling WinRar, for starters.

actually I dont think the problem is vista. I am using Ultimate edition and no problems here. I also have winrar installed on this machine.

Well... isn't that interesting. What else could it be? I am pretty stumped by this one.

Same exact problem here...Vista Home Premium. I was hoping to find a solution here. I don't have WinRaw installed, unless it came with my PC.

Same problem here on Vista Home Premium, no Winrar installed.

Workaround to see your zip files:

1.Delete database

2. Have karaoke zips in a folder inside of a master folder

3.highlight folder( do not recurse)

4. Add folder to search DB

5. Create a virtual folder named karaoke

6.go to Database, highlight first file, hold down "shift" and hit "end"

7. Drag all files to virtual "karaoke folder"

8. Now all karaoke files show up in the virtual folder for speedy searching and sorting.

I do this for each media type. I have 3 virtual folders, 1 for Videos, 1 for MP3s, and one for karaoke!
