Sujet Virtual DJ Restarts!

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

Ok I need help here....

Ok I just recently upgraded from 3.4 Home/Console edition to Pro

Fresh install Actually, I removed the install completely and I
ran the registry cleaner.

I used Pro in the club 4 night already Flawlessly! (Yeah)

So I am here at home playing arround with some mixes and bam... Virtual DJ restart
music stop program reloads back to Square one.

Is there some settings I can check?
I dont want this to happen to me while in public.

Thanks,

What was the last thing you did when it appeared? Load a mp3, a video? Change the sound config?

I was playing an mp3. No config changes, the other song was already loaded and I was cueing the new song.

I tried playing both songs again thinking it's the mp3 file and i had no problems
is there a crash log we can look into.

What were your last things, while you were cueing, when VirtualDJ closed: move the jog on the djc, move the pitch on the djc?

Was the keylock activated?
Do you use my mapper for djc?

Well not really as only the VirtualDJ developers can understand it ;-)
Use Wordpad to open it.

But we can have more details, at any case... ;)

Yes you can know on which thread it crashed (In general: "Main" or "Video") but other instructions can only be understood by the dev staff.

I can see its the same reason for both crashes.

address=00420033
ins=d308008b
excode=c0000005 (1,1)

Dev Team will know the reason....

Wild guesses:
- Corrupt mp3 file?
- Badly coded skin ?

Anyways, Dev Team will look into it, find the reason. They know what the code means ;)

Sweet. I left it running All night in automix mode and it did not crash
so i am going to bring it out again this weekend. I will just keep a CD or Ipod with a mix ready to
go on a seperate channel. just in case.

thanks,

Running on auto mix all night, does not mean that your issue is resolved. That is not putting any kind of pressure on the system. The team is looking into your problem, so at least wait to see if they come up with something.

I play with my ICDX and I always bring my CDs with me. So if it crashes I will pop the IPOD on for few Minutes switch mode on the icdx's and continue mixing the old Fashion way...

Thanks Guys..
I will keep an Eye out for a resolution

Thanks Again.

The team recommended to lower the performace settings.

I Think I figured out why it restarted...

Could it be the sound card?

The only difference when I am home and the show is the sound card I use
at home I use the Laptop Sound car with a splitter into an external mixer Board

I use the HDJC MK2 for the show.

I Lowered the perfoamance on the laptop card and the music started to sound like crap
digitized Scratches and lots of delay. I decided to plug my HDJC in and I performance was better
right away. I was then able to lower the latency below 512 and not get any crackles.

Sigmatel Audio is the build in card
I have a dell laditude D620

what's the lowest recommended latency for the HDJC mk2... I am currently running 256 with 0 problems(crackles/skips) but I have brought it down to 128 and I still didnt notice any issues. just wanted to be safe ya know.

Does anyone know of a laptop that comes with a Killa Video Card
Great soundcard. and enough power to run virtual DJ at it's highest performance setting with 0
problems?

Thanks,

Best setting for Hercules is AUTO latency in VDJ, and at least 256 at the Hercules
Or you can set 256 at VDJ (VDJ takes control of the latency).

Also, turn off safe mode, and turn on overclock if its a laptop

About the other soundcard that makes VDJ restart, is it only with this card that happens?
Maybe the onboard card has an IRQ sharing issue.

Go to "Hardware device manager" in Windows, and list by "resources" to see the IRQ list
See if the onboard soundcard conflicts

if I open the device and go to the resourses tab
it states there is no conflict but if I look oin the list

it's using pci 21 and so is my usb host controller
