All,
Being a die-hard FireWire fan, I've always preferred any instance of Firewire over USB 2.0 for many reasons (Dedicated Bus, Designed w- Audio/Data in mind, Daisy-chaining capabilities)
When using VirtualDJ within my BootCamp 1.2 installation, I've noticed that content loading is much slower through the FireWire 400 on my MacBook Pro. I realize there is an 80mbps theoretical speed gap between the interfaces, but I've never had this speed issue in the past.
Can anyone speak towards their experiences with Firewire 400 vs USB 2.0 within the MacBook systems? Obviously Firewire 800 would deliver a stomping, but I don't have the budget for upgrading all my external enclosures. I really want to stick with FireWire if it all possible!

Fire is was made for capturing DV video footage. It should be faster that usb, maybe its something to do with the programing, maybe usb is written in somewhere to be the most used connection for external hard disk over fire wire. 800 is a killer though

Believe it or not, it's actually the Bootcamp that is slowing the data transfer, not the Firewire. I've got the 800 Firewire, and with Bootcamp it's still going slower. The USB 2.0 isn't doing much better either. On the Bootcamp posts, I've found others with the same problem. We actually just loaded the MAC version and are doing the VDJ through it now, where you keep all of the external hard drive speed without a hitch.

Are you able to do video, with plugins/effects within the Mac version just yet? All I've been able to port-in are the skins.
