It's pretty sad Marcel.
What is making it worse is the freaking heartless media circus.
We had a local reporter on a victims front lawn here yesterday doing a live broadcast.
The Today show did their show via remote broadcast from the lunch room across from the dorm hall zooming in on the doors that were locked by the assassin.
It's just over and over and over again from the initial shock to the pictures to the please stop playing that phone recording of the gunshots to the candlelight vigil to taps, it makes me sick.
Finally just had to turn it all off, theres no other escape.
It's just too much to let people mourn without the god dam cameras and stupid insensitive questions repetitively asked just for the sake of generating viewer interest.
Like vultures circling overhead fighting for position on the prey.
It's just the next bullshit story for these folks to spew from Anna Nichole Smith to Imus to this, like Iraq is too boring for them now.
Sorry, but thats the way it is here.
The media sucks
They sit there dressed to the hilt with every detail complete from the hair to the nails to the cosmetics pretty as a peacock and then they spew this sewage that spoils our lives like nothing is ever good enough to be worth reporting on.
Sorry for the rant, but it's out of control big time.

One reporter I dont remember his name interviewed a witness from the back of his limo! No Lie G.I.! His freaking limo, I mean at least show up like a regular person not some elitist-bulletproofed (it might not have been but if I was scared s%^&($#s I would assmue it was) limo. The media is running this great country into the freakin' ground trying to out do the next network!

The sad part is that the way the media is covering the event you would think that this was a usual occurrence at V-tech. I live in Virginia and I've lectured at V-tech. I can honestly say that the campus at Blacksburg is one of the most beautiful peaceful places in the East Coast. I was there during the fall and was amazed at the tranquility and ease of life in the campus community.
All that beauty and peace has been shattered with the events of the last few days. The media is so busy trying to focus on who this individual was that they forgot one of the most important aspects of media relations, respect the victims. Let the family mourn, do your job, but please let the family mourn...

This was my quote from yesterday in a different post...
A little harsh yeah, but at the time I was outraged and angry! Now I am sad and confused as to how I should feel. I mean gun control vs the NRA, freedom of speech vs censorship...so many different issues lately. I too am tired of the spectacle on the TV and radio. I hope that we as the American people don't try and forget what has happened either at Columbine, 9/11, Iraq war, Katrina,V Tech or so many other very important issues when the next big news story comes along like Paris Hilton seen without panties or something...

Quote :
You know that it is very tragic when some disturbed person can have the audacity to walk into a classroom, workplace, shopping mall or something like that and take it upon themselves to not only end thier life, but take as many as they can with them. Personally I feel that if your life is that bad and you want to die, then go somewhere secluded, take a F'ing gun and blow your head off. Why kill so many innocent people if your life is fouled up! It's a shame because I seen news reports that were trying to blame the rampage on bullying or exclusion from a group or something. That's just bull***t! This damn world is just too sensitive to either comments or actions. You know if you don't like something that some one else says than get over it! If exclusion from kickball makes you mad, then get over it! If your hell hole of a life is too much, then kill your damn self but leave the innocent folks out of it.
I don't know but when I was young the saying was "sticks and stones may break my bones but names will never hurt me."
Now we teach our wussy society that "sticks and stones may break my bones but words will scar me and leave me emotionally unstable for the rest of my life resulting in a bloody rampage to kill as many as I possibly can because I don't have the balls to confront that which bothers me!"
I am done!!!!
My hearts go out to all those that have been hurt by this coward ass****!
MS
Also I hope that no one is offended but this cannot be accepted in any part of the world...and if you were offended please get over it and don't go on a shooting rampage...:(

Y'know it's easy to be condesending as a Canadian being so close to the U.S.A but at the same time I might as well live in Europe for the small differences.
But the fact that we are so close means that we see all your Movies, most of your T.V., know your history, see the good the bad and the ugly just like a brother or sister.
I think Most Canadians would not hesitate and give with unashamed good will in America's times of need. As any good neighbour and "family member" would.
You annoy us, We annoy you. But I don't think there has ever been two counrties with more goodwill and open freindly ties ever in History.
It'll Probably stay that way.
