Sujet Proplem with Artist Name

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

Hi

I have been thinking of buying the Virtual DJ or the IDJ2 Numark console at the moment I want to buy the Virtual DJ because the features are superb.

However I do have a proplem with track names as most of my track names are this e.g 2 - 03 You Don't Know Me with no Artist Name. I know the solution is use the Tag&Rename but I have got loads of them that need doing which is the proplem and I don't really want to spend time renaming them :-(

Is there a quicker way to do this?

Thanks

Somebody on here taught me this trick.

If you are ripping your songs using Windows Media Player, save them as artist-title, e.g. Armand Van Helden Featuring Duane Harden-You Don't Know Me (using the track you mention above as an example). You should find that, once you call up Virtual DJ, it should display the title in your Title field and the artist in the field which is, for some weird reason, labelled "Composer". As for other info, you may have to add that manually.

Once you have put the album in there, you then have to analyse the album to get things like track length and BPM information - that can take a bit of time - but that enables you to take a much-needed and well-earned rest - have a cuppa, watch a bit of telly, stick a meal in the microwave, go for a gypsy's, Tom Tit or whatever ...

As for the stuff you already have in there, you will need to go to each track individually, rename it (artist-title in the filename field), artist and title information in the other fields. Alternatively, delete the lot and start again from scratch, using the above method. If the album info has already been ripped in, you should find it still there, so you may not even need to type in the tracks!
