Sujet Video Problems - Page: 1

Cette partie de ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes

So called Numark and asked specifically if cue played all the video formats including the apple encoded ones (mp4) and they said "yes". Well just spent 500 bucks on virtual vinyl and guess what...cue has the same problems as vdj..THE EXACT SAME PROBLEMS....search doesn't work correctly either...errrrrgghh. Why on earth do you think a company would actually sell a mac version that doesn't play mac video files...unbelievable.

im sorry for your frustration but
apple purposefuly makes these files not play in any program apart from itunes

this is a legal requirement to apple to sell these. no other aplication can play these

there is software to dycrypt these videos

but this is legaly questionable

actually My other dj program "megaseg" plays them perfectly. Actually, Cue/Vdj plays the audio but not the video so if it was a legal issue then the audio from the mp4 video wouldn't play either. BTW, I created these mp4 video files from music video dvd's so it's not a encrypted apple thing...it's just a vdj/cue bug. What about the search function? I hope ur not thinking I'm bashing u personally...i'm just venting...before a company makes a customer spend 500 dollars, it should work correctly that's all. Ok, let's put aside the mp4....vob's are blocky as well...my stomach hurts!!! LOL

Its def not an Apple thing. Its a problem with the software. I also talked to Numark and they have no clue on anything going on with the software. Im also having a problem with most of my .vob's. Theres a thread about it in the Mac forum. I'm very frustrated with the Mac version of VV (Cue). So far its as I expected...

Sky, i think he is referring to self encoded mp4. Not an Itunes store purchase, Correct guys?

I encoded h264 movies and videos and they play well in many media players beside quicktime. Heck even VLC plays them fine...

The encoder likes visual hub, toast and even quicktime all do it legally so I am stumped..

Sky, what are we misunderstanding?

Posté Thu 17 May 07 @ 3:51 am
sky is correct. drm mp4 files will not play in vdj. you guys are also correct, non-drm mp4 files do not play in vdj either, although they should. on windows, you can install a codec (3ivx or k-lite) that allows you to play mp4. there is no solution on the mac for playing mp4 (h.264 specifically) as far as i know. if i'm wrong, someone correct me. the artifacts on vob are supposedly from the interlacing in the vobs ripped from dvd. supposedly if you de-interlace the videos, the problems go away. i have not tested this myself.

FYI.. for everyone, since we are in to decrypting things ... Please do not post anything about how to decrypt movies/music or anything that has to do with removing or "sneaking" around the copyright lock outs in the forums >. im sure VDJ wants to keep there example of proper edicate in ways to obtain movie and music. :-)

Should we be able to play DRM free H264 video files?

My mp4 vids are vids that I converted from my paid for subscription from promo only (called them and made sure it was ok)...like I said plays perfectly in another mac app...this is a bug in vdj/cue. Any suggestions on an app that will rip down to vob but has an de-interlace feature and allows u to rip by chapters?...i use mac the ripper but no option to de-interlace. Anybody ever called numarks tech support...lmao.

The program cinematize does exactly what you need, rips to .vob by chapter and there is an option to de-interlace. However, even when I de-interlace my .vobs they still aren't working in cue. It just says error.

I called numark tech support yesterday and talked to three different guys. They each said that they have not heard of any problems with the mac version of cue and they were pretty much clueless. One guy said he would call me back but I doubt it. (Just numark being numark.)

Guys lets try to keep things positive, this thread is starting to look like the serato forums. We are all here to help each other and quite frankly this kind of talk isn't really adding much to our community. What do you guys like about the latest build?
