i was told wif tccd that i would hav full control of vdj....as in i would even see the pitch slider move up and down on the software as i move it on my cdj i am currently using

Yes, you can do this. Works very well too!
But with the demo, you can only control with one cd player. Its a deliberate limitation of the demo.
A couple of tips though, make sure the "master tempo" feature is turned off on the decks, otherwise you'll get problems (you can turn on master tempo in the timecode config box in the software).
also, when you set up the maya, in the maya volume control pannel, don't forget to turn off the two "monitor" sliders, otherwise you'll hear the timecode signal through the speakers (not good!)
