Does anyone know about and use the "Load top track in playlist to next deck" button on VDJ 4.1?

hit the arrow button that should do the trick or just drag and drop...

Be sure that if you use the arrow button the correct deck is highlighted.
IE: If you have a song playing on deck A and you want to load deck B; be sure B is highlighted because if A is highlighted it will dump the song already playing and load the new one.

In the config menu/options there is a button called Security and another called Auto Headphones

By setting auto headphones to always, it tells VDJ to always have the inactive deck ready for cueing.

Also by setting Security to always, it allows VDJ to prevent song dumps and described above. with security mode set in always it will send the chosen song to either the headphone deck, or to the playlist area.

So by having the two set to always it automatically loads into the inactive deck and you're all set - to just click your PFL button on your mixer and start cueing immediately

Cool I did not know that.
Thanks

Thanks...DJ Marcel_1....that helps alot!

cstoll taught it to me.

Works like A charm.

Problem...It worked fine at home. But, last night when I tried it and it loaded the video into the deck that was playing. Checked the options and they were still the way you had me change them. Embarrassing. I tried it three times last night and loaded the wrong deck 2 out of three times. :(

You had auto headphones to always? - even on your gig unit?

and security to always?

Can't say I've ever encountered this. on either my home machine or mobile/club rig.

it's a native feature of vdj. If you were mixing or playing with the active deck then it might have switched. the keyboard shortcuts/controller commands will ususally go to the active deck (unless you have a dac or dmc.

was the active deck the non playing deck?

I bring my gig unit home with me so....it's the same unit. Yes security to always and headphones to always. I don't use the keyboard shortcuts, I use the button on the skin. DAC DMC ???? Don't know what they are. What do you mean by 'active deck'?

A DAC=
D igital
A udio
C ontroller

D Igital
M usic
C ontroller.

There's dual cd player -style controllers.

If you don;t have a controller and just use the keyboard and mouse, use the ENTER key highlight the song you want to play and press enter. If you have it set up like the way I mentioned. should clear up your problem.

Don't have controllers. So what you're saying is to highlight the song in the playlist and use the enter key to move the song to the player that's not playing at the time? Instead of using the 'load on to next deck' button?
Thanks

I think I misunderstood what your problem was.

I just tryed your issue, By putting some files in the playlist area and clicking the load arrow. It did indeed auto-dump the song that was loaded into deck A and NOT in to deck B.

Conversely when I hit the enter button the songs loaded as I decribed above. It Ignored Deck A and auto-loaded into deck B just like I expected.

I thought you were loading from the recordcase.

No Matter.

If you want safe loading - use the enter Key either in the recordcase or in the playlist area.

If security is set to always it'll either load into the inactive deck or dump into the playlist.

Should solve your problem - I hope.

Crossing my fingers for you

I assume by record case, you mean the songs displayed by clicking on the folders (in the center column)?

Actually, when using the button, Ive had songs dump to either deck from the playlist area, sometimes A sometimes B. Using the enter key, so far, it seems to dump into the deck that is not being used. You would think the button would work the same way....might be an issue to be fixed in the upcoming version of VJD. I would prefer using the button rather than dragging and dropping.

I guess I use VDJ a little differently than most DJ's. I very rarely play any techno or mixes, I play mostly karaoke and videos....oldies, hip hop and country. So I have no need for controllers. But I do need the program to work functionally and to be dependable. Needs some work there.
