Sujet: Help Please! iTunes m4p codec...

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

When i switched from PC to MAC, I transfered all mp3 format files to my mac, then I imported all my music to iTunes. I never really used iTunes. Now I started purchasing music from iTunes, but for some reason Virtual Dj does not recognize m4p. what is m4p anyways? how do I get Virtual Dj to play this format? I want to continue purchasing music from iTunes, but I want to make sure Virtual Dj will play it.

Songs purchased from iTunes are encoded with DRM.. the system that allows you to play them but not others. VDJ won't/can't use these types of files because of this protection. (Yeah.. I know... it sux)

The best way to convert them for VDJ use is to burn an audio cd (not a mp3 CD) in iTunes, then either copy the aiff files from the CD you've created to your hard drive, or re-import them into iTunes useing the .mp3 coded(found in iTunesj>Prefes>Advanced>importing.

Yeah that really sucks, So I should burn the music to a cd, then delete from iTunes because I want the mp3 format, then import the Cd on to iTunes... sounds like lots of work, but at least ill have all my music backed up. Is Virtual Dj ever going to work with iTunes? because iTunes is a cool program.

The problem is not with Virtual DJ. Virtual DJ actually supports mp4 files.
But, because of Apple's DRM on the tracks they will only work in iTunes on the computer you downloaded it on and on an iPod.

Apple have now released the DRM on a lot of the tracks, so you can actually update whatever you bought. DRM free mp4 files should work in Virtual DJ
