The keylock function doesn't seem to work the way I expected it would. For example, if I'm in "smart mode" and have VV's keylock activated and I move my CD deck's pitch slider the keylock has no effect and the pitch changes. Yet, if I move the VV's internal pitch slider the pitch stays constant. Am I missing something? (BTW, I'm aware that my CD deck's keylock can't be used).

Well I've found an answer to my own question which I stumbled accross with a little tinkering around. In the "sound setup" menu I switched from "CD" to "Vinyl" in the timecode configuration just to see what happened and EUREKA, problem solved, the keylock now works. Mind you the pitch will change a bit if you adjust the pitch slider too fast but it catches up fairly quickly. What I really like though is that you can scratch with keylock on without getting the "wubba wubba" sound like you get with the Numark CDX. Yay! No more turning keylock on and off all the time or forgetting it's on when I scratch. I'll take scratching with keylock on over instant pitch adjustment any day. It actually makes sense when you think about it though, the reason you can get a clean scratch sound with VV is because they must have designed the keylock so it is only active when the pitch slider is moved (the side-effect being a slight delay in responsiveness), whereas the CDX's keylock is constantly processing when it is engaged including scratch movement. BTW, who woulda thought that VV would still be able to read timecode CD's when you select "vinyl". One last thing (I'm sure everyone is already aware of this trick but it's not mentioned anywhere in the manual), if you click on the "0" on VV's internal pitch slider it will slowly ease the pitch fader back to to 0%. I love this because my time can now be better spent looking for the next track rather than spending 20 seconds with my hand on the pitch slider. The only downside is that your turntable/CD player's pitch slider will now be out of alignment with VV's so you'll need to adjust accordingly if you want to adjust the pitch after that.
