Sujet Best Portable Speakers For Herc

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

I've got a Dell XPS M1710 and a Hercules Console with VDJ Pro. The question I have is what are the best portable speakers I can use with my setup. I wanted to use my headphones and my laptop speakers to practice mixing, but it was suggested on this forum that I purchase external portable speakers. I was considering:

http://www.alteclansing.com/product_details.asp?pID=XT1

or

http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/speakers_audio/home_pc_speakers/devices/199&cl=us,en

Can I plug these into the Herc or will they only plug into my laptop. Can I still mix with these? What setup do I need to do in VDJ? Thanks.

Which Hercules do you have?
Mk1 Mk2 or DJ Control?

The first two have built in 5.1 sound cards, the DJ Control does not.

If you are using the Mk1 or Mk2 you can jack into almost all stereo's, TV's, Surround Sounds systems with standard RCA leads. (So no need to cart around speakers with you in alot of situations)

If you use the Herc DJ Control, and you have 2.1 sound card in your notebook, then you need to get a 5.1 sound card to be able to Prelisten whilst having you mix pumping out seprately (in stereo).

Generally speaking for decent quality bass in your speakers, you will need sacrifice portability!

Apologies if i'm going over things you already fully aware of.

No thank you both for your input. I've got a Mk2 and I love it. I'm not going to be performing with these portable speakers just practicing. I don't know if I can use these portable laptop speakers with my setup because they are usb powered and I don't know if it goes from the lineout in my soundcard or the sound comes from the USB.
