I think the answer will vary depending on the individual's needs, preferences & budget !
The Mk2 is much cheaper, but is an all in one solution, Midi Controller, Sound Card & Mixer bundled into one small portable package.
The Vestax is a 'deluxe' device, it's more expensive, with much better build quality, much nicer to look at, better ergonmics, but it is a Midi controller only. So you will need to rely various other equipment in addition to it.
VDJ natively supports the Mk2 specifically, were as the Vestax can be used but only via the general Midi support of VDJ, so you would need to map the buttons to actions of your choice.
The Vestax has touch sensitive jog dials, which is excellent for Scratchers, however, i belive that currently it is not possible to use the Jog Dials with VDJ. (The Vetsax jog dials are supported in other software)
