you can now do a manua cut by choosing a keyboard shortcut for crossfading or volume down and setting it to temporary. Now by repeatedly tapping that key you have a cut button and can do all sorts of funky shiznit!

Also, right cliking on any (most ?) control acts only temporarily, which is how you can get a good cut effect (either use right click on the volume sliders or the xfader).
