Sujet: Who's got the skills to pay the bills!

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

Database, correct BPM's and cue points! Those who have used Virtual Dj for years know how much these things mean to them. I'm sure that's one of the main reasons why users are a little apprehensive to upgrade. Not this time tho, I didn't think twice and I gotta say that this is a brilliant program!! I wish I could say the same for my file management!

Which brings me to my question. Now that we have a new and improved way to search and categorize, I'm asking all what they use (tricks, programs, shortcuts) to tag, sort, analyze, etc. Also any ideas on file/folder structure would be good.

I got 2 weeks off work and I'm looking to go the hard yards in going through all my 'to sort' folders. The big thing for me would be to minimize the loss of cue points with my tracks as I have invested a lot of time with these.

Currently I use Easy cd-da extractor 10 to rip or convert. I use mp3 tag tools v1.2 to mass tag and also to move and sort (although I know I'll lose DB info if I rename/tag a file that's been analyzed). Haven't found a good way to sort and clean multiple tracks yet.

Anyone with better ideas please step forward.

I use iTunes as my music library, for ripping and making playlists.
I use an iTunes addition software called BeaTunes, which sorts, renames, scans for BPM and Key. It's a very nice piece of software and it only costs $19.95
The thing I like about it is that it's checks you database for similar names, album names and different spelling of same name etc. and corrects it automatically. saves me a heap of time ;)
it can also automatically compile playlists based on your preset criteria, such as bpm, key, artist, etc. etc...nice little feature ;)
