I'm into week three of transition from DJ to VJ/DJ and I have a few questions.

- Is there a way to run a 3rd (video) channel to keep as a background video? I have tried to run the clip bank but it sucks up too many resources. My "on the fly" solution has been to run my background video until I'm ready to transition to the next song or video, the cut to a slide show while I mix. I'm using a shadow dancer video when I'm not in VJ mode. (http://www.shadowdancers.tv/index2.html#Video) My format has been 1990's pop to current videos mixed with current pop/club dance stuff. The club is off the beaton path and my target demo is 25-35 y/o DINKs. They spend money in the bar and security is never needed. Plus it's fun to mix old 90's videos.

My other trick has been to take old dance videos and sync the BPM to look like they are a video to the song. Here's an easy one for that.

<object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/0WW8flwpH-Q"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/0WW8flwpH-Q" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>

Should I run a video PC and a DJ Laptop running a KVM switch?

Any opinions/input about how I am running things so far?

I seem to be re-inventing the wheel and am looking for shortcuts from the collective.

Tim
