Gang -
I did a research but nothing stood out.
I still use old RED for 99% of my events.
Don't need (right now) turntablist type functions.
I have used FX only to piddle with.
Now, my events are 99% wedding. That means relying on set playlists and autoplay. Plus make extensive use of the waitlist. I used to do teen dances and that's how I educated myself w/ different software. Now, no longer.
Right now, when I use VDJ, I approach much like a CD vs playlist making for the occasional potty break.
That is what is holding me back. I'm just so use to old RED and it's features and quirks. I have both a DMC-1 and DAC.
My question. Is there an idiot guide to working w/ autoplay and waitlists for us PCDJ folk?
Everything else I'm cool with.
Thanks gang!

When I made the transition I just ran both programs and rebuilt my playlists.
It was a pain in the rear for a while, but once done, like anything, it made life easier.
Nothing wrong with red 5.2 for what wedding dj's do, it's perfect for that.
Many have grown to offer more services like karaoke and video along with a boatload of effects that make a considerable impression on clients.
So if that is what you are considering, VDJ is the way.
Most PCDJ users slip right into VDJ with little problems adapting, the controllers help that along actually.
