Sujet: Vista dual boot question

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

I currently have a dual boot system on my laptop. The laptop has 2 internal drives so i have XP installed on one and Vista on the other.

XP was initially used for VDJ, but i'm now happy using Vista for VDJ and so the XP has become redundant and just taking up disk space.

I like having the dual boot system, 1 for my personal use and 1 for VDJ.

What i want to know, is there any reason why i can't have dual boot with 2 copies of vista on each hard drive, 1 for personal use and 1 for VDJ?

I was planning on using Vista Boot Pro to do this and start from scratch.

Is there any reason why 2 versions of the same OS shouldn't be installed as a dual boot and will it work?

no there isnt , just be sure to install on seprate partitions

you may need to manualy edit the boot.ini file to remove the reference to xp from the startup list however :)

Cheers Simon,

I was going to start from fresh. Formatting all the drives and using Vista Boot Pro.

By the way, i keep getting a problem with something called ffdshow.

I think its a codec. Not sure where i got it or why. Can anyone tell me what its used for, if i need it or what software i might have installed if for? Its baffling me.
