I agree cstoll, for years now we have been hearing that vinyl is on the way out, ever since CD's started hitting the shops, and all the major records companies saying they are to stop producing vinyl.

Now I'm glad that vinyl is coming back, it's about time. I know the sound quality is not as good as digital, but that to me is where vinyl wins. I don't care if you can hear slight crackles in the music on older vinyl, that is what gives it character.

They will never get rid of vinyl. It has been around for 50+ years and it will be around for another 50 years to come.

Jimmy. i have to disagree with ya, to me vinyl is way better than digital as the sound is warmer, natural n give u that "feel".

But i agree with u if I assume u were saying that not as good as digital cos of the crackles n pops.. but that the touch (u said it too) n yah if the vinyl is dirty or old n the needles worn off, u might as well go digital..hehe.

But still vinyl my number one choices:)

Amen! No need to say more.

Predictable like Rambo.

I got a pair of 1210s a few weeks back, and it feel purer mixing vinyl than CDs or MP3s.

It's getting your hands dirty...

Amen.

Although this is just one perspective, various reports like this sure seem to put a damper on the "death of the turntable" predictions/predictors:

It was nonsense then, and more so now. ;)

Analog vinyl records might not resurrect as strongly as is being implied in this threads article, but TURNTABLES certainly are. Especially with newer TCV solutions like VirtualDJ and Virtual Vinyl as well as solutions by others.

The only thing that's "dying" is the belief that "button-pushing/auto-mixing/only beat matching" is real dj'ing, and obviously none of those qualify as talented enough to be considered turntablism.
