I just downloaded the latest direct x . When i went to install it i was asked where i wanted to install it . Any suggestions ?

uuuuuhhhhh doesn't windows updare just find the location and install it there for you , i thought it did .......also make a restore point b4 proceeding .......

If you downloaded the Redist pack - then it's asking you where to extract the install files. Create a folder on your desktop and then choose there. After that run the SETUP in that folder.
