Sujet: So I think I'm sold on VDJ.

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

So I think I'm sold on VDJ. It's time for me to go digital and I have been looking into these DJ softwares from a far. Seem as if everyone around here is into the serrato system, although I'm not completely into the idea of having no control over the hardware it comes bundled with. I come from the music production side of things, and I use a RME hardware for all of my digital audio work. RME's hammerfall line has never let me down, prior to using RME I had a ECHO Layla, and that gave me nothing but problems.
I'm thinking of going big with my setup, if I'm going to invest it it, then I want the best hardware. Has anyone used RME's new RPM hardware?
This is what I want to use with VDJ, along with the pioneer DJM-800. Anything I should know about using the DJM to control the midi mixer inside VDJ?
How does VDJ's stability compare to serrato? I know a couple of people the had to deal with serrato crashing during a shows, and it was not pretty. I cannot afford to have to deal with this.

The computer setup that will be running my VDJ would be:
DESKTOP Intel 2.4G Core 2 Quad w/ 4GB RAM
Dual BFG GeForce 8800 GTS OC2 / 640MB GDDR3 in SLI configuration
RME Hammerfall PCI-e interface
RME Hammerfall RPM
Windows XP professional

These are pretty much the last things on my mind before I purchase the software and TCV's. Does this seem to be a pretty reliable setup to run VDJ?

Thanks for your help,
Jay

Those specs seem over kill for doing video, however if you have the cash to burn than go for it. I am running 2gm memeory 2.4ghz duo core 2 and 7950gt pcie card and no issues. I also use an exler nuo4 (great for midi) waiting for the evo5. I have heard of others using the 800 with no problems. So you should be all set.

Save your money.

I have one 7800gtx, Delta 44 sound, and DAC-3.
