Well, let me stat out by explaining my setup. I have a DAC-3 controller, a Dell XPS M2010 laptop, a Korg Zero8 mixer and a pair of Denon DN-S3500's. The Korg Zero8 mixer replaced my old mixer and soundcard which was a Denon X900 mixer and a Gigaport AG soundcard. Before, I didn't have any sound issues with mp3, mpg mpeg, vob, divx, avi, etc. Now with the Korg Zero8 which connects to the computer firewire, I have pops and clicks in my audio on certain files not all. I played around with the IRQ settings and everything looks good, no conflicts. Last night I was playing with the set-up some more and I found out that I was able to tweek the system by changing all my video codecs in VirtualDJ to windows media video decoder. Does anyone know where I can get good codecs for avi, mpg, mpeg, vob, etc. I downloaded some and what I found out was that some codecs worked better than others.

So, you have a DAC 3, a Gigaport Ag, to usb. You also have a Korg going to a firewire. Do you have anything else connected to usb? Are you using a usb hub, powered or unpowered?

I have 5 external drives on a powered hub. I've been playing around with the codecs and got most of my video and audio files to sound good. The Korg Zero8 does sound alot better than the Gigaport AG but it requires alot more tweeking with the codecs. Why is that ?
