On/Off buttons for each deck.

Thought of this idea because i was thinking of a way to reverse the track to a stop. and there's [forward] a stunt that can only be performed on a real tt with the power off (u can still hear the sound). feature would work even better on vdj with cue points. when u bring the track back with a cue point and let it play three or 4 times it plays slowing down with different bpms. [the tcv players can currently perform this trick im asking]

the feature is very powerful. hit OFF, and pull the virtual deck back (like on a real tt) and it plays backwards to a stop. the plug-ins just dont give the 'virtual' tt's a "real" feel.

while playin when turned OFF the decks play to a stop (not brake) just like on a turntable.

Some might ask what would be the relevance of this feature since the decks are already ON when we open the program. yes the decks are ON by default. maybe we should be able to turn one deck OFF to ease resources or use it for stunts.

*one deck can be shut OFF and the other plays playlists. maybe this could help reduce resources.
*dragging a song to the OFF deck turns it ON. using keyboard shortcuts does the same too.

* I don’t think there’s a current plug-in that gives a similar turn off-reverse play-effect. Even if there is this feature could free up a plug-in slot.

*turning mixer off disables mixer. both decks play without mixer. Kind of like playing 2 instances of winamp.

This is a road that can lead to 3 or more -players.. the idea of turning one deck off can be stretched to CLOSING that deck. Which can lead to many decks (ON) being attached to the mixer. Which leads to the death of the 2 player mixer and takes us to a whole new skin platform.

help expound on this ON/OFF feature and how it could come in handy.

Inertia is the term you're looking for.

It has been suggested few times on these boards,
but at the moment only possible with plug-in "brake"
for simulation of turning off. There is also an effect
TTStart @ the end of this page to simulate turning
it on.

Well, "turning a deck off" would not ease resources at all.
The only thing that might do that is unloading the track,
which is possible with deck control > unload function.

Anyway, it would be a "cool feature" only for those who
don't use VDj with timecode, which is by far cooler ;)
