A Silence Detector with adjustable DB levels would be nice. It can become very annoying when you need the track to start from the beginning and you have to cue out the first second or two of silence.

Yes, I agree. It's one of the features I really miss from PCDJ products.

That would be a nice feature within VDJ indeed.
But to trim that silence from the beginning or ending of your MP3 or WAV files you can use this program and the paid version allows BATCH processing:

I am familiar with this application however I have found it to not produce great results. Even after customizing and tweaking with the setting the results don’t seem very impressive.
You are also compromising your tracks if the application makes a poor adjustment decision.
Having said that the application might be useful for some. For batch support you need to pay $69.99.
