Hey all i have a stanton dj lab 2 set, with a stanton m. 201 mixer with a soundblaster max HD audio sound card on my desktop computer. My speaker system is a kinyo RB-6A 5.1 surround sound unit. I'm so confused right now, i don't know what to do and i want to hook up my mixer to my computer so i can play around with virtual dj and be able to at least mix the tracks with a mixer rather than having to do it through the interface. It would also be nice to hook the turntables up, but that may be difficult. PLEASEE!! Anyone help me out, if anyone can give me any tips, medications, steps, guidelines WHATEVER to setup this damn mixer to my comptuer i would be forever indebted to them, thank you so much

first off, im not 100% clear what your gear is. is your soundblaster max onboard to your computer? if it is, check what connection types it has. you should have at least 3 headphone jacks for the surround sound output and probably one digital output. normally you would use the digital output to your kinyo thing, but in this case you will not use that.
If it is, then first you need two 1/8" adapters to RCA (headphone jack to the normal audio jack). Put one headphone-size jack into the FRONT speakers output of your soundcard, then connect the RCA jacks of the line input on the mixer for DECK 1. Then do the same for REAR output and DECK 1.
In VDJ, you need to go into the config and set the Output to External Mixer, and the Sound card to 4.1 Card. Then underneath that, there is a setting for configuring which outputs for left and right deck. If you did exactly as I said above then the first optin there FRONT-Left deck/REAR-Right deck is good.
Then you want to plug the master output from your mixer into the input of the kinyo box.
when using vdj, you wont be using the mixer portion anymore. leave the crossfader in the middle and dont touch the gain or eq, do this all on the mixer.
that should be it.

for what your looking to do you will need a full registered licenced copy of Virtual DJ Pro. not the trial since this option is locked.
In order to connect your turntables you will need a soundcard with 2 stereo ins and 2 stereo outs like the ESI Maya 44 USB or Virtual Vinyl soundcard (if you buy Virtual Vinyl you get everything you need to connect your turntables and mixer as well as a licenced copy of the software.
