Hello !

I recently acquired a Sound Blaster External 24btis live! sound card, which I was told would work with a headset on Virtual Dj
Yet I don't know how to plug it in to make it work.

My setup is like this :

Sound system = Sub woofer + 2 speakers, left and right + a little box that cotnrols the volume on the whole thing and sub and treble.
Sound system plugged into Sound car "front" plug with a green cable coming from the little box.

Where should I pluf the headset and how should I configure VDJ ?

try this

open up vdj

go to config

open up sound set up > choose

outputs > headphones

sound cards > 2 cards

output channels 1ts card (ext) channel 1 on mixer, 2nd card (lappy or pc card) channel 2 on mixer (or directly plug your headphones to the external output on your pc/lappy)

hope that helps

Tayla

Hmmm
I don't have all those options :/

I have "Sound card" in my config, but not sound setup and I can't choose outputs, 2 cards etc.

Is it bevcause I'm not using the pro version of VDJ?

*edt* : If I scroll down yeah I do have options for 2 cards, do I set one to the external and then plug in my headset on the internal?

Is there a way to just use my external Sound card?

you must set for 2 cards if you want to use your headphones, how many outputs do you have on your external card, if only two just follow the above

Tayla

hope that helps

- Front input
- Rear input
- Line in
- phones input
- spdif input
- c/sub input

could you try as above settings but one and two channells go to your speakers headphones to its socket, i haven't got your skin but at the top is there a slider with h/phones icon use that to cue up, hopefully ephem we may hit on, try different combinations and see how we go...

Well, I've tried loads of things, including stereo spliter, 4.1 sound card and 2 sound cards yet it never seems to work.
Maybe I'm not doing it right?
Do you have MSN Messenger ? Would be a lot easier to actually resolve this.

What would be the msot logical solution would be the 4.1 mode and having the headseat pluged into the "rear" spot and the sound system in the "front" spot.

I found a screenshot of the Sound setup on the pro version, it looks a lot easier to get working than on the home edition.
But now I've bought this one I don't particularly want to buy the pro version as well :/

Finally got it working, used the 2 sound card system and plugged it all in a different way from the one I had been trying (inversed it)

Thanks a lot =]

there are differnt holes in your soundcard, blue/green/black/red I believe.

Black and green are both Output. Try put your headset in the green one, while only having the surround plug in the black one.

green: output 1
black: output 2
