While mixing video and wanting to display a picture, like a jpeg, can you add a cross dissolve so the picture comes in smoothly rather than just pops in? In video effects, I select slide show, select the picture anand click activate and the picture just pops in. I'd like something a bit smoother or an effect of some sort.

Back in the vjamm days did some people like coldcut put a midicrossfader(or something like that) at the side of the analog crossfader on their mixer. something like that is probably posible in vdj also. i.e. you could use osme hardware ot ocntroll the curve of the videofade. but maybie that is not what you are looking for.
