Sujet: Sounds like crap.

Last friday was I playing and I hadn't restarted my comp in a while. I had my Maya44 USB plugged in and the sound coming out was kind of piss poor. I restarted (threw on a CD for a bit), re-installed the drivers for the Maya and loaded it up again. It worked, but my sound was still kind of low.

Any reasons for this anyone can think of?

By piss-poor, what exactly do you mean? Quiet, muffly, distorted?

At the risk of stating the obvious, check your windows mixer settings, and make sure windows hasn't turned the volume down low...
 
....and check the output levels in the Maya control panel too....
