I'm planning to buy a new set of DJ speakers and I'm leaning towards the ones with the built in AMP. Why? Less equipment to carry. What are your suggestions? Pros and cons of powered speakers with the built in amp. Question, if the amp. on the speakers blows can I still connect the speaker to a regular amp.? Will it still work?

All pros..try Mackie...http://www.mackie.com/ excellent sounding equipment and the amps are in the speakers!
Answer:All speakers with amps have parallel ports so you can use the power from another speaker/amp if you have problems,
