For those who may be having the same issue I had were your itunes library files are stored on an external drive. You need to copy the itunes library.itl, itunes library.xml, and itunes music library.xml files to the itunes default location on your c:drive typically C:\documents and settings\*username*\My Documents\My Music\iTunes.
if you are noticing the VDJ itunes data does not match your current itunes set up open up each of the xml files with wordpad and do a search for either the latest playlist you created or the latest file you added to your library. Whichever file contains the up to date info create a copy of it and name it to match the out of date file i.e if the itunes library.xml file has the correct info copy the file and rename the copy to itunes music library.xml.
hopefully this helps anyone struggling with not having itunes in the default location.
