Ok... I'm not exactly understanding the specs properly,
can someone confirm... is this an analog mixer also which sends midi signals? i.e I can run this with cd player units and no laptop?

No, it need a computer to work but you can mix with turtable and cdj player thanks to the bypass function of Virtual DJ.
More info http://www.hercules.com/uk/DJ-Music/bdd/p/141/dj-console-4-mx/

It's a MIDI mixer with built in soundcard. When it's connected to your PC the soundcard functions normally and allows audio routing. When the PC is not connected the soundcard does not function thus you can't use it for anything.

I just saw that a DJ store in sweden has it so you can order it. Lead time 3-10 days. 504 euro. This must be a mistake has it been relesed yet?

Many of the stores we see selling products that are yet to ship don't have any confirmation about receiving or not that products.
The fact of selling a brand doesn't guarantee they will or can sell the full product range.
So, if you see stores offering a pré-order of products like Denon's DN-MC6000, Traktor Kontrol S4 or Hercules Dj Console 4-MX is only to get the benefit of having many potential buyers that are curious after forums discussion and popularity among the web... their try to sell more and most of the times at a bigger price.
It's known by the market trends a product is more expensive at a official release date, and 3 or 4 months after we already can see stores selling with 10 to 25% discount....it's pure marketing, i don't blame them, the only thing i know is i probably would do the same if i own an online store.
For many of us who can "wait" till early 2011 i think it would be an excellent opportunity to buy any at a more affordable price...
And once again if someone is "dying" to have new gear...always read the terms and conditions from that online store, and investigate whether they are credible or not...have seen many people losing their money and having no product...there are many "gost stores" online.
And another advise....even knowing all or 80% of this products are made in China or Korea, please beware of Chinese electronic stores, that sells for example the new PIONEER CDJ 2000 (on a regular store for about US$2000) at a price From US$150 to US$500....so be aware of that....Similar outside...."nothing" on the inside!!!

hi all,
just a few questions from me...
im looking to replace my bcd3000 in the next month and was looking at the rmx as its recomendied by vdj...
im not verry good with useing my mates copy of vdj 7 on 4 decks and so i would like to concentrate on 2 decks at first...
has anyone tried the 4-mx yet??
would you recomend getting it over the rmx.. i.e is the jog wheels so much better and other fuctions??
can the rmx be yoused with a 4 deck skin to swap control between decks A/C and B/D aswell ??
has anyone tried useing the code from a LE version that comes with the rmx or the 4-mx to get a pro version, if so how much discount did you get by upgradeing??
what are the limitations of a LE version of vdj??
mainly though id like to know what console would be the best before i dish out the money??
thanks for any replys

Having 4 channel faders makes all the difference for me, and im not having the other problems with my vms4. I still have a bunch of battle records lying around so its fun to have a analog channel to stick a turntable on just for scratching. The RMX was awesome, but i have a innofader on the way for my vms4. The crossfader on the RMX was bad, i imagine it wont be much better on this. But if you never scratch this would be pretty sweet.

You can map a button on the RMX to toggle between the decks for 4 deck control: http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/VDJScript%20Examples.html
The RMX gives you 50% discount off the price of VirtualDJ Pro - To upgrade once you have purchased the console, go to http://www.virtualdj.com/buy/index.html - The 4-Mx is not available yet, but should offer similar discount.

thanks for the reply....
50% off sounds like it might be a good investment. will see what the le version is like when i get the new control
still unsure witch 1 to get, will hope there is some more posts saying what others think of the likes of the jog wheels on both
cant see the vms4 being any good to me as i belive the faders for the other 2 channels only work with input's and not with the 4 decks on vdj 7
also 1 more thing, iv seen the 4-mx for £399 online but cant see if it has an internal sound card, i might have missed it if it has been statied

Not true, with the advance config in VDJ7 you can assign and deck to any channel on the VMS4 so you can use all 4 USB channels with 4 (or more decks) wiht the VMS4. I have tried an used this configuration amongst others ;-)

Yes the 4MX has a built in sound card. It's probably best to describe it as an evloution of the RMX...

I'm getting the new Native Instruments controller. For $300 more than than the hercules 4mx I think Its the best choice. The RMX and virtual dj were good starting out as a beginner but now its time to step it up. Plus the new 4mx looks cheap and toyish. I would like to try the new software but not for the price.
