Sujet: New to Djing have some queastions please help :)

Hello, i just bought my first DJ set, and i was wondering if When i want to play at clubs when im 18, like 18 year old clubs.. If i have to make my own mixes, or can i just play music already mixed, Like UltraDance2011 and etc, If im not good and mixing and making my own stuff. I can do effects and etc like most people. The other queastions is that do real DJ's download music or BUY Music?

You would have to do your own mixes to be a DJ. Playing already mixed CD's is not DJ'ing.

You can do effects but again, thats not DJ'ing

We buy our music.

If you have purchased all that gear, you will want to learn how to use it. take it a step further and purchase virtual DJ Pro. It will be a great help to you.

if you want to dj in clubs, then you gotta be able to mix.

playing pre recorded albums is not what makes you a dj. it makes you a guy who plays cd's.

check out the mix lessons section of the forum and practice as much as you can. carry a notebook and right things down when your out and about. things that you remember about how to mix. it helps to learn faster when you write things down.

go on youtube and search for , dj tutor

johnathan is an awesome teacher and i would recomend him to anyone.

and yes dj's buy music.

some do download but thats because they pay for mp3's.

initially beg and borrow music to mix.

downloading illegal music is a crime and is not really an option. dont get me wrong i think most people have done it from time to time but you need to start as you mean to go on.

what setup do you have?

You're the DJ, you can mix whatever you want. I've played stuff off of Ultra CDs, there's no shame in that. They have some good remixes. But, I would take them and mix them into some other stuff. Play mashups, play original songs, trigger some samples, make it yours. In time, you'll learn how to beatmix and cut and all that other stuff. Just make it funky, make it real, and make it something people can move to. But, remember, you're the DJ. You're in charge of the music. Play it the way you want it and hear it.

How do you reset hot que points everytime i put a song on that iv used before it has the same que points how do i rest it any help thanks
 
 
gotta love ellaskins, he awesome. my mate has learnt to beat match without headphones, thats crazy. iv tried that but i love my headphones
