Hi and thanks for this pre-release.

VDJ works on my notebook (HG Pavilion G6 Windows 8.1 64 bits).

Big problem with my Denon MC3000.
I previously used the kaleo mapper.

I tried VDJ8 and it firts goes OK. But, I tried to use effects by shift+EXF1 rotated buton. It worked as "Alt+Tab" shortcut than VDJ closes.. and comes again.. and closes again.
I tried changing the xml file but that's the same thing.

If I launch VDJ and my MC3000 is connected, the problems comes again.

Maybe it's a conflict with this plugin but I'm not sure.
I don't know how to reset V8.

Older mappers written for V7 might need to be updated before they work with V8

To RESET v8 just delete the "settings.xml" file from within your Documents\VirtualDj folder

Try deleting the custom mapper " /VirtualDJ/Mappers " file you have also and see whether this allows you to load the software.

The mapper will need to be re-worked for V8.

Done, no change

V7 still works with the MC3000

So is your mappers folder empty? Ensure it is.

Delete the settings.xml file and see if loads then.

all mappers files moved to the desk and settings deleted but no change.

If the controller is disconnected does the software load without issue?

Yes, even if the controler is connected and turned off.

But V7 still works correctly withe the controler.

hi all
has anybody got it working yet,

HP Pavilion G6
Intel Core i5 2450M
2.5GHz to 3.1GHz Turbo Boost
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
6GB RAM

using denon dj asio driver ver 2,2 1

i've deleted my custom mapper and the one in the devices folder

im not having any of the problems with the software closing down like you guys

but still getting some really strange behaviour,
the select knob and the back / forward buttons I just loose all control of after a while, if you kill all the equalizers down you still get sound bleed through,
the double mixer, video, scratch buttons don't work on the default skin
im pretty sure that's when I loose control of the select knob because after that it just flicks through the effects and I can't get back to the browsers

the pitch on the jogs are way too sensitive haven't worked out how to change that with the built in mapper

I will say loving the potential of ver8, just hope you get the native mapper working as it does in ver 7, or someone with mapping knowledge will make one

aubs

updated asio driver to 2.2.2
updated mc3000 firmware to latest version v1005

buttons to change the mixer, video, scratch panels not working is default skin related
if you use DJ Dads multi fx skins, 2 or 4 deck they work fine on mine, i love that skin anyway, I've found where to change the jog pitch sensitivity so that's sorted

still need help with how to solve the sound bleed in the headphones,
when you kill the all the hi, mids, lows,

then I will be well happy
thanks aubs

The center mixer panels are named differently in the new version 8 default skin, so that is why they dont work.
You can change the actions skin_panel 'mixer' to skin_panel 'audiomixer' and skin_panel 'video' to skin_panel 'videomixer', which will make them work with the default skin, but not with others.

The EQ in version 8 doesnt completely kill sound when EQ sliders are on 0%. If you prefer the version 7 way, you can change the setting EqualizerMode to Kill Mode (instead of Default) from Config->options.
