Billie Jean, ripped from CD as WAV, converted to ALAC and MP3, MP3 file scans for BPM properly, ALAC file is way out. Doesn't happen with all songs, but certainly with quite a few.

Can't you tap it out with 4 taps, does it not get the right bpm as a secondary?

If the source is actually the same I can't think of a reason why it would give different results.
