Of course I was joking, hence the smiley. However, if you have a 12 post conversation with yourself and then - out of the blue - start talking about drugs totally off topic... you could expect a comment like that ;-)

AMAHM "I use my phone as a modem" that may be the very best solution.
My wifi is as fast as songs loading from my hdd. How does your phones speed compare?
I'm seeing load speeds faster than 2s.
That's astounding.

I had used my phone in the past and then switched to a mobile hotspot. Speeds were better then DSL with the phone, and seem to be near twice as fast with the hotspot. The hotspot is 4G LTE and tethered via USB to my PC. It also has a phone number associated with it for text messages that go to the screen. Another feature is that I can connect ten other wireless B/G/N devices to it and they are on their own little network. This works for my lighting PC and the remote apps. Maybe thats another thing you would be interested in looking at.

I've changed so many things recently that my head is spinning a little, but that one should be near the top of the que.
It gives life to the unlimited content !

It looks like I can tether my phone easily, even though it's only a Blackberry Z10 on a Tesco network.
The changes keep coming...thanks all !

It appears I have two options.
1 Tether using a USB connection.
2 Set my phone up as a mobile hot spot and connect using wifi.
I favour option 2.
Technology is becoming more magical every day.

I would recommend a good burn in test at home first, at least twice as long as a normal gig.
Run everything you would run at a show, video, karaoke, automix, beatmatching, and add in the CU searches. Remember to cache the CU and not just put it up on a deck. I have not fully vetted the newest build, but, loading into a deck before cacheing could occasionaly cause the interface to pause. Or if there is a slow load, it may not be complete before your other song is over.

I also use my phone with 4g as a wifi hotspot, works great. Even 3g or H+ is fast enough in most cases. I don't really mind if it takes 2 seconds or 10 seconds to load, however if you use NetSearch it may take a few tries before you got the right version.
A lot of venues have free wifi too, in that case I just use that.

For so many reasons regarding security and reliability, I recommend bringing your own network and not using anything free.

My phone connection provider was of no help, it would not work, and they just said their service may not work with the Blackberry z10.
But it can tether a phone to a laptop.
Hm...I found a post on the Internet saying Blackberry Link must be running on my laptop. Downloaded the software, and it appears to be working.
It's quite fast.
I've had a frustrating day talking to technical support, and making arrangements to change to o2, then after a little sleep, a quick Internet browse, and putting my reading into practice.. it worked !
It just slowed down a little.
Saved to cache ok on my second song.
I think I have a 1gb data allowance, 2 songs have used 38.3mb.
It will be interesting to see how this goes.
This is the future for all dj's although they need their own song library as the core.
I believe we will still need to buy songs, just not as many.
I set my phone up as a mobile hotspot, no wires !
The next problem will be data charges.
Hell of a day.
Not much is easy in this life.

This post is made from my backup laptop using my phone as a hotspot.
General browsing does not really seem to use the data allowance.

0.1mb for that last post.
Songs do use the data allowance fast.
I've much to learn.

It looks like there is an issue with CU right now (at least for me)
I get errors on CU on v7.4.5 and v8 build 2325.
The searches work but you can't download the songs
Net Search still works
Anybody else seeing this?

Yep, same problem here. Al CU songs give an error.
Posté Wed 17 Jun 15 @ 4:33 am
A couple of cu songs in a long list refuse to load. Most seem to work.

Yes, it seems to be working again now :)
