Sujet Videosample memory load

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

Are the sample in the sample bank preloaded to the RAM? Is it loaded when Virtual DJ starts or when the bank is open? If you have, let say, 30 video samples at 50-100 Mb each loaded in the sample bank at the same time. That would take a lot of RAM? If so and you dont have a lot of RAM, say maybe 4-8 gig, what happen?

The audio is decoded and saved in memory, the video is decoded as the sample is playing

Thanks for fast answer. Thats perfect. So actually you can load the sampler with hundreds of smal video samples without any impact on memory

There is still some memory needed since one frame is decoded ahead of time to ensure it can be played instantly, but yes you can put many together in a single bank.
Depending on your need, if you just want to play many clips randomly using the Slideshow might be an option as well though.
