Is it coming back? - I've noticed it is missing from the latest mac version. It now seems to be part of the 'Skins - video output' add ons. Theres not many there and they all seem to be limited in customisiation.

Latest version for Mac - 7462. The option isn't in the Master video effects - overlays drop down. Weird.
