Probably the best outcome that consumers could hope for, Productionwise as well as DJ wise (Konkakt is still one of the best Instrument sampler platforms available, and other products like Reaktor and Battery have strong userbases too - it would be a shame if those disappeared).

So.. NI becomes another brand under inMusic ?
Most likely these are not good news for Traktor/NI fans.
inMusic for a long time has splitted its DJ related brands to 3 categories, assigned one brand with each category and then killed everything else (like Stanton)
I can't see how Traktor gear would fit their existing categorization, unless they decide to kill one of the other brands in favor of Traktor..

TBH, it makes more sense if inMusic was after NI not for Traktor series, but for their production gear.
After all, inMusic already owns AKAI which was competing with NI in many music production related gear.
So, from my point of view, the most likely outcome is for inMusic to invest more on the "production" aspect of NI and abandon Traktor silently over time.

One would guess that inMusic could in theory try to merge "Engine" with "Traktor", but honestly that would take huge amounts of time and effort to accomplish..
So, I would not bet on that coming true.. but only time can tell!

So I do agree with that...I would think in the near term there might be a bridging of the gap of Traktor users - they might try to get some of the other InMusic controllers on board and other integrations where it makes sense (e.g. SoundSwitch), but it does seem like it would come down to a choice of what their future would be DJ Software wise...I can't see them keeping up Engine + Traktor longterm. They might do the Rekordbox thing (extend Engine to be Performance software while maintaining/extending the standalone).
