Think different, think VirtualDJ

if you say "one day tere was" that means VDJ is gone and I think VDj will have so many life forward butty, think different...you better be carefull with the MAC guys (lol)

A story is always written in the past and don't worry, VirtualDJ will live again soon ;-)

VirtualDJ dead, pffff, are you crazy? Dev team is "dead" yes but for not sleeping ;-)

ok well i am going to attempt to make a video for tcv tonight we will see how it goes
gauge

you rule man... every time you put out some kind of video or tutorial i try to model after it a little..

keep up the great stuff

thanks dude that means alot. now i need a good sound card and new mixer and more than a week of practice with real turntables lol i am still a noob

Thanks for the vids man, they've been real good to watch.

I'm trying to hit you up on msn with that address you supplied in the 1st video but don't think its the right one (I'm not gonna post it up here for spammers, don't worry). Just wondering if you could tell me where you got that scratch sample from from the first video and if you could hook me up with it either by sending it over msn or uploading it somewhere, so I can emulate what you did too (just the like last guy was trying to do too :)

Thanks again for the vids, they been real good to watch to learn new stuff.

WOOOW

damn... still rocking the floor Gauge!;) Wow...

And the mk2 soundcard?? Thought it would not work for fast scratch... I'm pleased to see it work this well with timecode... Hercules MK2 works pretty good in asio for timecode vinyl too it seems ;)
Or at least you make it look good;)

sweet.. can i touch your Vinyl? ;))

@Guage - my advice to you is to find some other dj forums to honestly critique your future mixes – else you’ll be like some of the kids of American Idol whose friends and family tell them they are great singers when they are really not – apply that to scratching.
The general atmosphere of this forum is “everyone is wholesome –everyone is your friend – we are all boy scouts - Pleasantville etc…” – which leads a type of false politeness.
I noticed with on this board once you’re a member and post mix – you will usually always get comments like great, nice etc even though it may not be all that. I bet if you posted this mix on this forum without identifying the dj as yourself you would get more honest responses.
No, I am no better than you in terms of scratching abilities – and I know it your first week on the TTs but the video is not as good as some comments implied (in my opinion anyway).
Check out the pio forums, denon forums or prodj forums for a more straightforward members.

so why dont you guys put up your videos if you're that much better?;)

Gauge is one of the fastest improving and learning djs I've ever met...

He's only been dj a year, and only had TC and turntables for a week... A WEEK!

DAMN impressive if you ask me... ;)

And its not like Gauge was claiming he was Q-Bert or anything.. He just wanted to show his new turntables in action.... by request ;) and doing a damn good apearance with them...
Never seen anyone that good on turntables after a week... not even after months... ;)

So, I was for sure not being nice just for being nice, it did impress me, and Gauge still does.. What a quick learner, and how much progress in so little time... ;)
I could for sure not scratch jack s**t my first year as a dj... ;)

Well, that's true, go on improving buddy.

.....

Say I didn't post the above but I posted a scratch video, the comments would probaly be the same (good, great etc..) even though I suck - that's the whole point of my post. That's just the atmosphere of this forum. This forum is commendable for a lot of things but for getting a fair assesment of your skills - it is not.

This is not an attack on guage, his mkII scratch vid was good, this one not.

I think people can handle the truth!(especially a soldier fresh from Iraq)

Guage keep doing your thing with the videos & posting them on this forum but my advice still stands -other forums give more candid replies which in turn will help you better dj.

Personally I prefer frankness over flattery.

peace.........

I could upload my own video scratching but this is not the point I agree with xgl_dj saying that Cauge is very good doing scratch with the hercules but still is not the same with real TT now what I said is "welcome to the real dj's world" using TCV do not missundertand me of course that I was impressed too because he did with the Hercules, I own a BCD2000 and I can't do the same thing thas he does but when I am using my TCV of course that the scratch is better and my point is : Gauge you are doing ok but could be better" and I think you will do all that you need is a lot of practice buddy..

Dj Quintana

Sure... ;) My point was only... he only had the turntables for a WEEK ;) hehe...

Give him a couple of more weeks, and the nature of the beast will for sure make him scratch better on real turntables than the small plastic jogs on the Hercules console;) (on which Gauge probably is the current World Champion... hehe.. or the best I've ever seen on that toy)

So, givin that he now have real turntables, just wait and see... anything else would be against nature, and a miracle ;) lol ... And against the nature of Gauge too ;) hehe

wow... uh i can take criticism thats not a problem. and yes i do know i need work. but you gotta realize i am using the hercules for a soundcard and you cant do alot of good scratches with it without popping and cracking and digital phasing. i do have these videos on other sites and i have gotten good and bad reviews. i posted this vid and all the others by request from people with more stars than you and me combined. and i will continue to post videos as long as i feel like it. all i can say is i am learning like we should always be. and nothing anyone says good or bad is gonna change my progress.

gauge

p.s. the hercules scratch video is not all that good lol.
