When you close VDJ it creates a playlist for that session. The playlist is in the start to finish order of your session - which is your 'history'. Look at your playlists.
So, yes it is done for you... date stamped playlist
BTW which history are you looking at? Event the history.txt is in the order in which you played the files.

That is a button/feature you can use, however if you look in your left navigation panel, you will see a playlist folder. Click the + do you see a list of files with dates? Click on one. This is the playlist for that date with the tracks in the order you played them.
Now, if you are not seeing any files under playlist then we can resolve that glitch...

Thing is that the txt file is more useful to me cos i can then put it straight into my CD wallet designer app.
